LANDERON 47 Three Button Chronograph circa 1930s Dial Marked Lorie

Uncommon Landeron caliber 47 three button Flyback chrono. Dial and movement marked LORIE which was either a Sears store brand, or an independent company called Saunders, Lorie & Co. Ltd. I favour the independent jewelers theory as I've seen old trades listings and adverts for Saunders, Lorie & Co. Ltd., every Lorie watch I've handled over the last 29 years was marked so on the dial and movement and I can't imagine Sears selling a watch with a dial and movement marked Lorie.

Rare and collectable chrono. From WUS member Tomcat1960:

And I agree with you: the L/47 is absolutely collectible. Here is where the story of many descendant chronograph movements starts, not the least of which are the Lemania 861 (of 'Moonwatch' fame) and the now-ubiquitous Valjoux/ETA 7750. And it was produced for only about 8 months before it was replaced by the hugely successful L/48. Less than 20,000 were made. (Exact figures are hard to come by because apparently very late L/47s received the L/48's dual-button chronograph mechanism, which technically made them early 48s. Still, some count them to the 47s.)
